Pembrookeshire, in England. It is a bit out in the country, so you wouldn't have heard of it.
[He's surprised by the handshake and the boy's overly friendly manner. Then again, William was used to encountering that type. And this guy didn't seem creepy at all, beyond that weird flash at the beginning. Maybe being around demons had made him paranoid.]
Gathering information and listening? Are you a journalist or something of the sort? But yes, it is a deal then. I would hardly mind speaking with you again in any case. You've been rather pleasant so far.
[He's so used to things not going well with people that William finds himself being down right friendly.]
I didn't, but I heard a lot of good things about your country! It's supposed to be full of culture and has many skilled people!
[He beams at the compliment, although the job suggestion makes him laugh.]
A journalist? Nah! I'm just a guy who wants some friends and to have a good time together! Getting to know each other is the first step to that, right?
Which place doesn't? It'd be pretty creepy if everything always went perfectly well since people aren't.
[Besides, that'd be really, really boring.]
Hehe, same! There's a couple of people from back home around, but none of them is what I'd call a friend.
[He makes an awkward face.]
All they care about is fighting and the war. I don't really care for any of that, so that makes me sort of an enemy in their eyes... Or more like somebody who can't be trusted? Haha, in any case meeting them is awkward.
No, people really aren't. But that's why we learn to cope with our flaws.
[Humans were sinful, that much William had long ago accepted. As long as they strove for better, what was wrong with that?]
That is a bit odd. I would think they would just see you as one less problem. But then again, everyone has someone like that. A person they find hard to meet with.
[He gives him a smile that more or less hides a queer look in his eyes at that comment. ' A person they find hard to meet with'? More like that refusing to be unquestioningly like the others warrants death.]

I see. Well then I hope that we too shall become good friends, especially since most of those I would call such are still back home.
